(Bala) Balasubramaniam
Bala is a medical doctor hailing
from Sri Lanka. After practising medicine for several years,
Bala was called to the Ontario bar in 1994. He is an alumnus
of the University of Windsor (LL.B.), York University (LL.M.),
University of Detroit Mercy, U.S.A. (J.D.), and the University
of Toronto (Medical Sciences). He is also a Chartered Insurance
Professional, qualified in casualty, property, and marine
insurance.
Bala's law practice spans
areas where medical issues are involved including all forms
of insurance claims - casualty, property, life, disability,
employment, workers' compensation, Canada pension, etc.

Peter
is a professor of mathematics and also adjunct professor of
law at the University of Toronto. He was called to the bar in
1992. He is particularly interested in police matters, the homeless
and anti-war issues. He has participated in a number of inquests,
royal commissions, and has argued cases at all levels, including
the Supreme Court of Canada. He is well known for his pro-bono
work on behalf of the Ontario Coalition Against Poverty (OCAP).

Leitold
Michael Leitold works closely with
various community organizations and agencies across Toronto
in defending low-income people against eviction and criminal
charges.
He works in the areas of criminal law,
administrative law, and civil litigation. He appears regularly
at the Ontario Court of Justice, the Ontario Superior Court
of Justice, the Landlord and Tenant Board, and the Social Benefits
Tribunal.

Jeff Carolin
Before opening his office in the Charles Roach Law Chambers,
Jeff clerked at the Ontario Court of Appeal for Justices Doherty,
Feldman, and Pepall. Working at the top court in Ontario added
to the practical legal experience that Jeff had gained working
at Pivot Legal Society in Vancouver's Downtown Eastside, at
Parkdale Community Legal Services in the immigration division,
and at the downtown Toronto public interest civil litigation
firm of Klippensteins Barristers & Solicitors. Jeff graduated
from Osgoode Hall Law School in 2011 and was awarded the gold
medal for achieving the highest standing in his class. Before
entering the legal profession, Jeff was involved with international
development & solidarity projects in Bolivia and Guatemala.
Jeff continues his political work today through the Law Union
of Ontario.
